Prof. Maria Augusta Favali
Assemblea Locale Bahá'í, Parma, Italy, former member of the National Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Italy
The Bahá'í Faith was founded by Bahá'u'lláh in 1863 in Persia (now Iran) and emphasizes the unity of Humanity, the harmony of science and religion, and the Oneness of God. It teaches principles such as gender equality, universal education, and world peace. The faith recognizes progressive revelation, believing that religious truth is revealed over time through messengers like Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Bahá'ís follow sacred texts like the Kitáb-i-Aqdas and engage in community-building activities worldwide. There are an estimated 5 to 8 million Bahá'ís globally, with around 4,000 adherents in Italy. The Bahá'í Faith actively promotes interfaith dialogue and social progress. Professor Augusta Favali is also Copresident Onoraria of Religions for Peace Italia and Europe and a member of European Women of Faith Network.
